When To Register Switch Health 3 Steps to Follow

Switch Health

Founded in Toronto, Switch Health is a healthcare firm aiming to improve decentralized patient care. We want to ensure you get the care you need, no matter where you are.

Switch Health was founded in early 2017 and quickly became a pioneer in linked illness management.

It was during this time that Switch Health was able to assist leading pharmaceutical companies in the development of modern connected diabetes management and diagnostic devices and, more recently, in the transfer of technology, licensing, distribution, and deployment of more comprehensive diagnostic devices, services and the secure digital platforms that these necessitate.

To achieve its long-term aims of improving patient experiences, COVID-19 began with mobile COVID-19 testing.

Switch Health’s testing procedures have been adopted by government and commercial businesses throughout the nation, establishing the company as an industry leader.

We think that Canada’s economy can be securely reopened if it has improved access to testing and innovative testing methodologies.

PCR FAQs

WHAT IS A PCR TEST?

It is impossible to tell if someone is presently infected with COVID-19 by doing a PCR test; instead, an antibody test must be performed on blood drawn from the person being tested to ascertain whether they have ever been exposed to COVID-19.

WHO CAN DO THE TEST?

In the previous 14 days, no one has had any signs of the COVID-19 virus; nobody has had any direct contact with someone, and no one has left the country.

WHERE ARE THE TESTS CONDUCTED?

Switch Health offers PCR testing in several Canadian cities, including Toronto, Calgary, Halifax, Saint John, and Moncton, as well as on-site testing at your business.

HOW MUCH INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE WHEN I BOOK?

Only the estimated number of participants, the testing date(s), and the location are needed by Switch Health to set up a COVID-19 Asymptomatic PCR test at your place of business (s).

To qualify for the corporate discount, a minimum of 30 tests must be scheduled, and at least six tests must be booked for every workplace visit. It would help if you gave us a week’s notice to schedule workplace PCR testing.

WHO SUPPLIES THE TESTING MATERIALS?

Switch Health will provide all testing materials for use in the workplace. Only a space big enough to provide sufficient physical separation will be needed for your company for testing.

Switch Health will also supply any tools your organization may require for PCR testing education and internal messaging, including essential permission documents.

HOW IS THE TEST CARRIED OUT?

  • To begin the testing, participants will be requested to put on a face mask covering their nose and mouth and sterilize their hands.
  • The PCR test will need participants to sign up for an account on the Switch Health Patient Portal if they haven’t done so before. Results from their next-day* tests will also be available on this page.
  • A nurse from Switch Health will ask them to identify themselves and confirm their name, date of birth, and other personal information. In addition, they’ll be quizzed on their medical history, verified contacts, symptoms, and current health state as part of the screening process.
  • The nurse will address any questions about the collection process before you begin.
  • Participants will be instructed to remove their face masks so that their noses are visible before the exam begins.
  • Until the desired depth is reached, the nurse will continue to slide the swab into the nose. It will be done in both nostrils to ensure appropriate sample coverage after being rotated.
  • Participants will be instructed to lift their face masks to cover their nose and mouth once more during the experiment.

WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE THE RESULTS?

Health Canada-approved PCR testing will be performed on the sample at a trusted laboratory partner, and findings will be sent to the Switch Health Patient Portal the following day.

Switch Health will notify participants when their next-day results* are available. A Switch Health doctor will contact them to inform them of their test results, and the local Public Health Unit will be notified on their behalf if the findings are positive. You, as their employer, will be made aware of the findings and get an overall summary in the mail.
