Siouxland Community Health Center ( Six Best Careers)

The Siouxland Community Health Center (SCHC) and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) are charitable organizations.

SCHC was established in Sioux City, Iowa, due to a partnership between UnityPoint (formerly known as St. Luke’s) and MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center (then Marian Health Center).

Funding from the government Health Center Program grant program was obtained via this partnership so that a clinic could be opened to serve the medical needs of the underprivileged in the area.

As a small clinic with just 12 employees, Siouxland Community Health Center saw its first patient in 1992. SCHC has grown to over 300 people across two sites since its founding.

Accreditation by the Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) has been granted to Siouxland Community Health Center (SCHC) (AAAHC).

To maintain its accreditation, SCHC must engage in continual self-evaluation, peer review, and education.

  • Earn up to 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) in your first year on the job.
