About SCHC

Primary care at Shasta Community Health Center is provided free of charge. Since 1988, SCHC, situated in Redding, California, has served Shasta County and the neighboring areas.

THE GOAL STATEMENT

To meet the needs of those in our medically underserved communities, the Shasta Community Health Center established a mission statement.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

With the support of private and public health partners, Shasta Community Health Center will help develop a seamless system of access to compassionate, high-quality, cost-effective primary and preventive health care for all citizens of the areas it serves.

For those economically or otherwise disadvantaged citizens, Shasta Community Health Center aims to enhance their health.

One of California’s largest non-profit community health centers, Shasta Community Health Center (SCHC), is governed by an independent and consumer-majority board of directors.

Health Center Program grantee under 42 USC 254b and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 USC 233(g)- SCHC is also (n).

To qualify for HHS funding and Federal Public Health Service (PHS) status, SCHC must have covered clinicians/practitioners and support staff at SCHC and those clinicians/practitioners and support staff who work for SCHC.

Our online patient portal is called Shasta Health Connect. Using this website offers you access to your medical records 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a safe and secure environment.

Using a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with an internet or cellular connection, you may access your portal account from any location.

To take advantage of the benefits of Shasta Health Connect, join up now!

  • Filling out online forms and surveys may save you time and effort.
  • To communicate with your medical team, you should use email.
  • Appointments should be requested and confirmed. (If you need immediate attention due to an emergency, don’t hesitate to contact our office.)
  • Stay up to current on the latest medicine recalls.
  • View the results of any recent tests you’ve had.
  • Take a look at your health details and obtain papers like vaccination records, letters about your return to work or school, and notes about your visits.
  • Keep your contact and health information up to date.
  • Explore your medical history to understand your situation better.

Note: At this time, you will not be able to request medicine refills via the Portal.

Medical records are never provided through email. You will be notified through email when a message from the Shasta Community Health Center is delivered, and you will need to log in to Shasta Health Connect to see the message after it has been received.

An Overview of Our Residency Program and Faculty

A Rural Training Program in Family Medicine linked with the University of California at Davis is offered by Shasta Community Health Center in Redding, California.

Pregnancy, pediatrics, procedures, and community medicine are all emphasized in training. Each class accepts three residents (PGY-1 through PGY-3) each year.

As part of the SCHC Family Medicine Residency Program, residents rotate on inpatient services and share calls with the Mercy Redding Family Practice Residency. Shasta Community Health Centers provide outpatient continuity clinics.

Our mission is to educate full-spectrum family doctors to practice in a community health center serving the medically disadvantaged population.

The SCHC Family Medicine Residency faculty will seek to produce the next generation of compassionate and devoted health care physicians.

Program Director’s message

A small town with a large underserved population is an ideal setting for our residents to learn about the entire scope of family medicine from you.

Redding, situated in Northern California, has a wide variety of outdoor sports and leisure options. Many of the conveniences available in bigger cities may be found in ours.

The training team at Shasta Community Health Center is encouraging and kind. We are eager to meet with you to explore this new and exciting opportunity.
