HISTORY

Making a Difference in the World has always been the primary goal of Golden Valley Health Centers to assist the underprivileged.

Golden Valley started as a migrant health program run by a local hospital. In 1972, Mike Sullivan was named coordinator, and it marked the beginning of a lengthy period of change and innovation.

In 1972, the hospital broke away from the county and founded a separate non-profit business to accept federal funds for migrant health care.

New non-profit Merced Family Health Centers built its first medical clinic in 1974 and employed its first full-time dentist in 1974.

The clinic grew, adding 11 satellite clinics and expanding its services to encompass Stanislaus County residents. Golden Valley was founded in 1995 because the group decided they wanted to alter its name to reflect better the people they serve.

Golden Valley has a long history of innovation and expansion in goods and services. As part of its efforts to enhance patient outcomes, Golden Valley has championed the establishment of patient registries and population management, cultural competence training, and the opening of additional facilities around the area.

In 2014, Tony Weber took over as CEO of the firm, and with him came a new outlook on how to proceed. Golden Valley has grown steadily under his guidance, both in the number of locations and the number of patients serviced.

The organization’s 45 sites serve more than 143,000 unique patients each year. Golden Valley’s logo was updated in 2016 to reflect the organization’s new mission better.

With Weber’s focus on being an employer of choice, we’ve been able to hire the most outstanding and brightest healthcare professionals. Become a part of Golden Valley’s future by joining us!

Weber wants to guarantee that GVHC’s heritage of care and devotion will continue to flourish, with 45 locations and more than 143,000 patients serviced each year.

In MYCHART, WHEN WILL I GET MY TEST RESULTS?

After your doctor has evaluated the findings of your tests, they will be posted to your MyChart account. This might take anything from 1 to 12 days.

MYCHART DOESN’T ALLOW YOU TO SHARE SPECIFIC TEST RESULTS ELECTRONICALLY, SO WHY IS THAT?

MyChart findings can only be seen by your doctor based on the tests you’ve done, and MyChart does not have access to trials of a highly confidential nature.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY HEALTH INFORMATION ON MYCHART IS INCORRECT?

Your doctor’s office’s electronic medical record feeds your MyChart data immediately. At your next appointment, ask your doctor to fix any inaccuracies in your medical records. When you see your doctor, they will review and update your electronic medical record.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT A RESPONSE FROM MY DOCTOR IF I SEND HIM A MESSAGE?

In most cases, you’ll get a response within two to five business days. It is essential to highlight that MyChart should not be utilized in an emergency scenario. If the problem needs urgent assistance, please call your doctor’s office or 911.

IN MYCHART, CAN I SEE A FAMILY MEMBER’S MEDICAL HISTORY?

You can. Parents and guardians may log in to their MyChart accounts and then link to information about their children.

This is known as proxy access. Select Share My Record from the Health menu to utilize this easy service, fill out an online Proxy Consent Form and bring it to one of our medical facilities.

In the “Friends and family access” section, you may change or add access to your health data for your loved ones.

  • Please take notice of the following: It is a legal requirement that patient representatives be at least eighteen (18). Proxy access is available for parents and guardians at Golden Valley Health Centers. On the child’s 12th birthday, proxy access is reduced to medium proxy access, and on the child’s 18th birthday, proxy access is terminated per California state secrecy rules.
  • From the time of birth to the age of eleven years: As a MyChart proxy, parents and legal guardians have full access to their child’s account. By the time your kid reaches the age of 12, you will no longer be able to see their MyChart account.
  • The age group of 12 to 17: The MyChart account of a minor’s parent or legal guardian may be accessed using a media proxy. You’ll be notified a day or two before your kid turns 18 to let you know that your child’s account will expire the day before their birthday.

DOES MYCHART ALLOW ME TO INQUIRE ABOUT MY FAMILY MEMBERS?

Communication concerning another person’s health information will be recorded in your MyChart account, making it easy to keep track of everything you’ve done. This information might compromise medical treatment if not included in the correct medical record.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME AND MY SPOUSE TO USE THE SAME MYCHART ACCOUNT?

Each adult must sign and submit a Release of Information request and create their own MyChart account since medical information is sensitive.
