History
Kenneth Rozenberg started Centers Health Care in 1996 as a 77-bed nursing home. Today, Centers Health Care is New York’s biggest post-acute healthcare provider, serving almost 400,000 patients annually.
We have four home health agencies, New York’s most significant private ambulance business, and a managed care program as part of our CHC continuum, which includes more than 5,000 skilled nursing beds.
Taking a look back and looking forward
“At risk” skilled nursing beds were added to the Centers Health Care family during the company’s foundation in 1996, bringing the total number of “at risk” beds to more than 3,000.
So many vulnerable individuals have and continue to fuel our development in this market, saving homes one by one and converting them into high-quality institutions.
| 1996 | Williamsbridge Manor, located in the Bronx, was the first Williamsbridge Center. |
| 1999 | Home Health Care is now available through Centers. |
| 2009 | Adult Day Care has been added to the center’ expanding offerings. |
| 2010 | The Dialysis Unit at Bronx Center elevates the bar for both in-center and out-of-center dialysis. |
| 2011 | The new Boro Park Center in the heart of Brooklyn is a tribute to the city’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant neighborhood. |
| 2014 | The Argyle Center presents the first phase of its Assisted Living Program in the Argyle Center. Apartment-style living enables tenants to keep their uniqueness and freedom while being protected by 24-hour building security. Companions and a wide range of culturally varied events are provided to suit all tastes. |
| 2015 | Centers has launched its first walk-in Urgent Care with a renewed feeling of urgency. |
| 2017 | Ellicott Center, the company’s first location in the Buffalo area, is where Centers is expanding its New York State of mind brand. |
| 2018 | With the use of telemedicine, Centers have redefined bedside manner. |
| 2018 | Jintronix Biofeedback System is now available for use at Centers. The new device employs computer game technology and motion sensors to detect more than twenty motions and adapt the therapeutic inputs in real-time. It is safe to use on the first day of rehabilitation since it is fully non-weight-bearing, and quicker beginnings facilitate recoveries and discharges. |
| 2018 | Kansas seems to be a natural fit as Centers Health Care moves to the Midwest. As part of its expansion into Kansas, the business purchased Wichita Center in Wichita and Topeka Center in Topeka, both renovated and renamed. |
| 2018 | The GO Rehab Program is now operational. Residents and their families will have a new choice on their journey to recovery, thanks to the program’s unique ability to improve clinical outcomes and enhance the resident experience. |
| 2020 | Post-acute care services are coming to Brooklyn. Brooklyn Center, the nation’s most cutting-edge post-acute healthcare facility, is now open, thanks to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 280,000 sq. ft. of advanced technology There are six thousand square feet of space in the facility’s 6,000 sq. 14,000 sq. ft. of therapeutic space of private patio and a rooftop area with spectacular views of Manhattan’s skyscrapers. |

Beth Abraham Hospital’s Cardiac Unit is a stunning manifestation of its objective. Laundry Attendant: $21,000 per year; Nurse Practitioner: $140,000 per year. While Concierge at Centers Health Care earns around $10.00 an hour, the Weekend Supervisor earns about $49.50 an hour on average.
